Test Ambient on Android

Ambient needs testers before it can launch on Google Play. It takes about three minutes to join, and every Pro feature is free while you test.

Use the same Google account for every step. It must be the account signed in to the Play Store on your Android phone.

  1. Join the tester group

Open the Ambient Testers group and tap Join group. If you see Ask to join instead, send the request and we'll approve it.

    Join the group
  2. Opt in on Google Play

Open the testing page and tap Become a tester. If it says the app isn't available, wait a few minutes after joining the group and reload.

  3. Install Ambient

Install it from Google Play on your Android phone. The Play Store page only opens after you've opted in.

    Get it on Google Play
  4. Keep it for 14 days

Keep Ambient installed for 14 days and use it a few times. Plan a day, try a brain dump, start the focus timer or add a widget. Then tell us what's confusing or broken at jahnviaghera@gmail.com.

Questions

Why 14 days?

Google Play asks new apps to run a closed test with at least 12 testers for 14 days in a row before they can be released to everyone. Staying installed for the whole 14 days is the most helpful thing you can do.

Does it cost anything?

No. Testing is free, and all Pro features are unlocked in the test build.

I have an iPhone. Can I test?

Not yet; this test is Android only. Join the beta list and we'll email you when the iPhone version is ready.

Can I leave the test?

Yes. Open the testing page again and tap Leave the program, then uninstall the app. Please stay for the 14 days if you can.

What happens to my data?

Your plans stay on your phone unless you turn on sync. There are no ads and no data selling. See the Privacy Policy.
